She is the daughter of the popular music composer Loy Mendonsa of the trio music brand Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. She started her journey as a playback singer in Bollywood with the song “Uff Teri Adaa” from the film Karthik Calling Karthik. The song which turned a big hit gave her a good launching pad for her forthcoming venture. She then got the chance to lend her voice in the film Housefull where she sang two songs “Oh Girl” and “Papa Jag Jayega” along with Neeraj Shridhar and Ritu Pathak. Her next song “Adhoore” from the film Break Ke Baad also became popular. She then sang the song “Baby When You Talk To Me” for the film Patiala House. Her song “Khaabon Ke Parinday” from the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara created a sensation. She also sang the number “Khushfehmiyan” for the film One by Two (2014) with Shankar Mahadevan.
