
Baqa Jilani was a right-arm medium-pace bowler and a lower order batsman who represented the Indian national cricket team in one Test. He toured England in 1936 and played in the third Test at Oval scoring 4 not out and 12 and remained wicketless. However, he made 113 at Leicester in a three day match and picked up 11 wickets in all the three-day matches combined. He was the first bowler to get a hat-trick in the Ranji trophy finishing with figures of 5 for 7 off 25 balls for Northern India against Southern Punjab in the first edition of the national competition in 1934-35.
