Chandrasekhar Gadkari was an Indian cricketer who played in 6 Tests for India. Besides from being an attacking right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler, he was also an outstanding fielder. He was born in 1928 in Pune, Maharashtra. He impressed as a fielder during India’s tour of West Indies in 1953. He scored a defiant 50 not out batting at No. 9 position in the fourth Test at Georgetown to take the total to 262 after India were reduced to 64 for 5 at one stage. He also toured Pakistan in 1955. He along with Shafiq Ahmed of Pakistan holds the Test record for playing the most number of Test matches without either winning or losing (6 Tests). He had a good record in first class cricket that spans from the late forties to the mid sixties. He represented Maharashtra and Services at the domestic level. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 69 years.
