Ebrahim Maka

Ebrahim Maka was a wicketkeeper-batsman who played for the Indian national team in 2 Tests. He was born in 1922 in Daman. He played at a time when Indian cricket had several wicketkeepers. He got his break in the fourth Test against Pakistan at Madras in 1952-53 when he register three dismissals – two caught and one stumped. He toured West Indies in 1953 as a standby wicketkeeper to Nana Joshi. However, he did play in the third Test at Port of Spain but retired hurt after scoring 2 runs. He did not take any further part in the series and Vijay Manjrekar substituted for him. His Test career ended as well. His first class career spans two decades. He passed away in 1994 at the age of 72.
