Signal NFX is an investing network for company founders, scouts, venture capitalists, and more to come together and connect with one another and meet new contacts. Whether you’re a founder of a startup company, or an investor looking to invest in new companies, Signal NFX is a fantastic platform to do so on.

What makes this platform even better, is that it’s completely free to use. So many financial services that aim to connect the investor to the business have many fees associated with creating an account and subscribing to their plans. Whereas Signal NFX is 100% free, as they have vouched to never charge for their services. Whether you’re an investor or founder, Signal NFX is a great platform for meeting new contacts.

So, how should you get started on Signal? This article will go over how to create a profile on Signal NFX so that you can start using all of the features they have to offer.

Create a Signal account

In order to use the services and features that Signal NFX has to offer, you’ll first need to create an account. To do this, head to their main homepage and then click on the ‘login’ button on the top right of the page.

Once you’ve done this, it will direct you to the login screen, where you’ll be prompted to either enter your login information or to create a new account. Click on ‘sign up’ and then enter in all the necessary information Signal asks for in order to create the account.

Once you have done this, you are all set and ready to begin working on your Signal profile! There are so many company and investor profiles: just check out this investor profile, for example.

Personalize your Signal Experience

Following the creation of your account, you will be asked to answer some questions regarding your company and other details. For starters, they ask what stage your company is in and you may select from:

  • Pre-seed
  • Seed
  • Post-seed
  • Series A
  • Series B

Once you have selected the stage that your company is in, you will be asked to select the company sector that your company is in. They let you choose up to three sectors, so be sure to choose all three so that people can find your company more easily. If you’re unsure what sectors to choose, check out this guide by Fidelity.

Following the selection of three sectors, you’ll be able to add your LinkedIn profile as well as the profiles of any other individuals working with you. Next, you’ll be prompted to list all your current Investors by their name or company. We highly recommend including all investors that you are able to include, as it will establish credibility for your company. You’ll also be able to invite your contacts to your new company profile through Signal NFX!

Create your Investor Profile

Now that you’ve created an account on Signal and have added all applicable company information, you are ready to begin the process of becoming an Investor. This is much more akin to creating a social media profile, as you will be prompted to upload some photos of yourself and include some personal facts.

We highly recommend uploading some professionally shot photos of yourself to your Signal profile if you are interested in becoming a serious investor on the platform. This way, potential companies you contact to invest in will jump at the chance to sell you a stake in their company.

On the personal info tab, you can select what type of investor you are, such as venture capitalist, scout, angel, advisor, or just a basic investor. You’ll also be able to include relevant social links such as your LinkedIn, Twitter, Crunchbase, and AngelList.

Following the personal info tab, you’ll be able to enter information about your investing career. This includes things such as your firm, position, minimum investment, maximum investment, sweet spot, investment stages, and location. Additionally, you will be able to check whether or not you are a lead investor or not, and what other attributes you have as an investor, such as being female or diverse.

After you have filled out the Investing information tab with your details, you will be asked to choose up to 10 sectors of interest. We recommend choosing all 10, that way you will have the most companies to access and view for potential investments.

Wrapping It Up

We hope this article made the process of creating an account on Signal NFX relatively straightforward, and that you can find new opportunities using their platform.
