Karsan Ghavri

Karsan Ghavri is an erstwhile Indian cricketer who represented the Indian national team in Tests and ODIs. He was a left-arm fast-medium pace bowler and a left-handed lower order batsman who played in 39 Tests and 19 ODIs for India between 1974 and 1981. He also played in the 1975 and 1979 World Cups. He was born in 1951 in Rajkot, Gujarat. Not only did he shine with the ball on several occasions, he was also useful with the bat many a times. His most memorable performance was against the West Indies in 1978-79 when he took 27 wickets. He also had a record eighth-wicket partnership of 127 with Syed Kirmani in Bombay which ensured India’s victory in that Test match and also the series against Kim Hughes’ Australian team.
