Ranga Sohoni

Ranga Sohoni was a former Indian cricketer who represented the Indian national side in 4 Tests as an all-rounder. He was a right-arm medium pacer and a useful tail end batsman. He toured England in 1946 and Australia in 1947-48. In his first Test at Old Trafford, he and Hindlekar stayed at the crease for the last 13 minutes for the last wicket to help India secure a draw. In the next match, he scored a valuable 29 not out to propel the Indian total. In his last Test, he got 28 batting at No. 10 to help India out of difficulty. He had a much better record in domestic competition which spanned almost three decades. He played for Bombay and Maharashtra in Ranji trophy and also captained the sides. He led Bombay to the Ranji trophy title in 1953-54. He also played for Baroda in Ranji trophy. He also played in the Lancashire League with Lower House Club.
