Shute Banerjee

Shute Banerjee was an Indian cricketer who played for India in one official and five unofficial Test matches. He was a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a useful tailend batsman. He played an unofficial Test in 1935 against Jack Ryder’s Australian team. Two years later, he appeared in three unofficial Tests against Lord Tennyson’s team. He also played one unofficial Test against the Australian Services team in 1945. He played one official Test against the West Indies at Bombay in 1948-49 at the age of 37. He took 1 for 73 and 4 for 54. He toured England in 1936 and 1946 but didn’t play a Test. He represented Bengal, Bihar, Nawanagar and Madhya Pradesh at the domestic level.
