Sunil Joshi was an all-rounder who represented the Indian national cricket team in Tests and ODIs. He was a slow left-arm spin bowler and a left-handed batsman who played 15 Tests and 69 ODIs for India between 1996 and 2001. He was born in 1970 in Gadag, Karnataka. He represented Karnataka at the state level throughout his career. He also played for the Bedfordshire County Cricket Club in England during the 2004 season for a brief period. He also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He retired from all forms of the game in 2012 and thereafter took up coaching assignments. He coached the Hyderabad cricket team and the Jammu & Kashmir cricket team. He was appointed the spin bowling coach of Oman cricket team in 2015. In 2016, he was named head coach of Assam cricket team for next two Ranji Trophy season. In 2017, he was appointed as the spin bowling consultant of Bangladesh cricket team.
