Wazir Ali

Wazir Ali was an early Indian cricketer who represented the Indian national side in seven Tests. He was a powerful stroke-making right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler who played all his seven Test matches against England. He toured England in 1932 and 1936 and played against England at home in 1933. During the 1932 tour of England, he amassed 1229 runs in first class matches and 1725 overall. During the 1936 tour, he was handicapped by a finger injury but scored his highest Test total of 42 at Manchester. In most of his first class cricket, he represented Southern Punjab in the Ranji trophy and Muslims in the Bombay Pentangular. His younger brother Nazir Ali also played Test cricket for India. He migrated to Pakistan after independence. His son Khalid Wazir played two Tests for Pakistan in 1954.
